…De la acera de enfrente
…De la acera de enfrente (…From across the street) is a much bigger exhibition that the three previous that carried out the Estudio Figueroa-Vives in a combined with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Havana, for the number of artists, the complexity of their production and the amplification of their exhibition spaces. Practically all the works were projects conceived specifically for the exhibit and for each one of the areas of the Studio and the Embassy, including the outdoors areas. Ten artists, that had accompanied the Estudio Figueroa-Vives in their projects for many years, were called. They were asked for an idea, without suggesting or requesting any specific topic. Each one of them began to show freely, without knowing the direction taken by their other colleagues, their most recent lines of research or ideas that had not been shown before and they wanted to show. Seen collectively, the resulting works drew the thematic map, the location and dialog among themselves and finally they occupied the spaces. The opening coincided with the 12th Biennial of Havana and took advantage of the occasion to make a recount of the first year of collaboration between the Embassy of Norway and the Estudio Figueroa-Vives (May 2014-2015). The exhibit included pictures, painting, video-performance and sculptures.
