I have always been drawn to places that challenge our concepts of space and time.
The Bad Lands series it´s about my experience in the Painted Desert of Arizona. The timeless appearance of this desert draws me to the sublime and dramatic. It is a scenario that expresses a fairly abstract idea of time for our perception. In its geophysical composition more than 200 million years are condensed. Each line expresses the end and birth of an era.
I am interested in the relationship that it supposes with painting as a timeless language that conjugates past, present and future and the inherent relationship that exists between abstraction and landscape.
